Jamie Gianoutsos

Dr Jamie Gianoutsos is Associate Professor of History at Mount St. Mary’s University in the US. In the interview, Dr Gianoutsos shares insights into her university experience, her motivation to become a researcher and her discovery of the intellectual history of seventeenth-century Britain as a research field. She discusses her time as a Ph.D. candidate and traces the early stages of her academic career and the work on her book The Rule of Manhood: Tyranny Gender and Classical Republicanism in England, 1603-1660 (Cambridge University Press, 2020), which won the The István Hont Book Prize 2020.
